Edmunds.com Comments on Hyundai's Quality Success in Response to J. D. Power and Associates' Survey Results

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 28 -- Edmunds.com (http://www.edmunds.com/), the premier online resource for automotive information, reports today that recent test drives of Hyundai vehicles support J.D. Power and Associates' findings that the company has made tremendous strides in its quality.

"All in all, there were many features and a high degree of quality packed into the little sedan," reads the wrap-up of Edmunds.com's overwhelmingly positive long-term review of the Hyundai Elantra, which was conducted over twelve months. "The car totally exceeded our expectations for the economy segment," remembers Karl Brauer, Editor In Chief of Edmunds.com. "It was mechanically flawless, needing only routine maintenance over the year we had it. And, the Elantra cost us just over $12,000, was fun to drive, very comfortable and got impressive fuel mileage, averaging 27.4 miles per gallon, even taking into account our rigorous testing that likely pulled down the average."

Hyundai's Santa Fe also impressed Edmunds.com. In an overview of the vehicle, positive observations include, "Reasonable price, strong warranty, roomy interior, long list of standard features, solid construction, good crash test scores." Every Hyundai vehicle has received a consumer rating of 9.0 or greater on the quantitative scale where ten is the highest possible score. Of all Hyundai models, Tiburon received the highest score at 9.3.
