California International Auto Show to Present World, National Debuts

Top Manufacturers to Unveil New Vehicles

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 21 -- The California International Auto Show (CIAS), which will take place Wednesday, October 27 through Sunday, October 31, 2004, in the Anaheim Convention Center, is prepared to host the biggest and most exciting Media Day in its history. On the heels of the show's first major North American debut last year, CIAS will be the scene of at least one worldwide vehicle debut and several North American debuts as well as a rich cross-section of manufacturer and aftermarket press conferences. Top executives from several auto manufacturers are also expected to speak at press conferences scheduled for Media Day at the show.

"We are confident that this year's California International Auto Show will be the best in history," said John Sackrison, co-director of CIAS. "Four months prior to the opening of the show, we already have our strongest lineup of debuts and press conferences ever."

For 2004 the CIAS Media Day, Wednesday, October 27, will be tightly scheduled to allow visiting local, regional and national journalists to make the best use of their time. In addition to the vehicle debuts and press conferences, the Media Day will also be the scene of the unveiling of Motor Trend's 2005 Sport Utility Vehicle of the Year.

"The reaction we are getting from manufacturers to our new initiatives is gratifying," said Todd Leutheuser, co-director of CIAS. "We expect to set a record for press attendance and draw media representatives from across the country to Anaheim."

Serving the Southern California market from the largest convention and exhibit facility in the state, the 2004 edition of CIAS will feature more vehicles in more exhibit space than in any previous show in its history. CIAS also kicks off the 2005 auto show season as the first show of the new model year.

The California International Auto Show (CIAS) is owned and presented by the Orange County Automobile Dealers Association and the Southland Motor Car Dealers Association. CIAS is a member of Auto Shows of North America.
