Thomson Delmar Learning to Distribute Video Active DVD Series

ALBANY, N.Y.--July 19, 2004--Thomson Delmar Learning, a leader in educational resources for lifelong learning and part of The Thomson Corporation , today announced an agreement with Video Active Productions to distribute a new engine performance training series on DVD into the educational and professional markets. For customers who prefer the training information on video, Video Active Productions is also offering an eight-tape VHS set through Thomson Delmar Learning.

The Engine Performance series on DVD is designed from the ground up to take advantage of the instructional opportunities provided through the DVD format. Key features include audio tracks in both English and Spanish, with optional subtitles in either language. These language options allow instructors to teach more effectively in mixed-language classrooms and provide learning tools for hearing-impaired students. In addition, all content is based on ASE-mandated skills and adheres to curriculum guidelines for all advanced-level automotive programs.

"Technology educators are now looking for multimedia training on DVD to complement their classroom instruction, and we're pleased to add Video Active Productions' new Engine Performance series to our catalog," said Alar Elken, vice president of Thomson Delmar Learning's Technology and Trades Strategic Business Unit. "Video Active has also addressed the growing demand for Spanish-language training materials."

Instructors can use the Engine Performance series (ISBN 0-9759-030-9) on DVD as a presentation tool, or students can use it as an interactive computer-based training tool on the PC. Whatever the intended use, both instructors and students will benefit from its full-color animations and step-by-step explication of abstract automotive concepts.

Video Active Productions, Inc. of Wilmington, Delaware, has specialized in the development of instructional multimedia programs since 1991. During that time, the company has collaborated with Bergwall Productions, Thomson Delmar Learning and others to create curriculum-based video programs on a wide range of automotive topics.
