AAA Strollerthon Will Fund Child Safety Seats and Booster Seats

AURORA, Ill., Aug. 2, 2004 -- Parents, grandparents, godparents -- grab the little one in your life, a stroller, and join AAA Chicago in its first-ever Strollerthon. This event is to benefit The Chicagoland SAFE KIDS Coalition and to raise funds and awareness of child passenger safety. On Saturday, August 7, 2004, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., families and persons concerned about child passenger safety are invited to stroll or walk the grounds of the beautiful Chicago Botanic Garden. Monies raised will be used to purchase child safety seats for low-income families in the Chicagoland area. During the event, participants are invited to:

     -- Enjoy the beauty of the garden
     -- Have their child's face painted
     -- Play games
     -- Learn about the differences between child safety and booster seats
     -- View demonstrations on the proper installation and use of child
        safety seats
     -- Get their child seats inspected by safety experts.

Participants are asked to collect donations in advance. All checks and money orders must be made payable to The Chicagoland SAFE KIDS Coalition.
