Nissan Donates $100,000 to Help Victims of Hurricane Charley

TAMPA, Fla.--Aug. 1, 20049, 2004--Nissan North America, Inc. today donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund which enables the Red Cross to provide much needed assistance to victims of Tropical Storm Bonnie and Hurricane Charley .

"Our hearts go out to the victims of this devastating storm that swept through central Florida," said Pat Doody, regional vice president of NNA's Southeast Region, which includes Florida. "When we see destruction of this magnitude, we feel compelled to do what we can to ease the suffering of our neighbors in our community."

"We realize it is going to be a long road to recovery for our friends and neighbors in Florida," said Gary Frigo, regional vice president of Infiniti's East Region, which includes Florida. "That's why we are glad to be doing our part to help Red Cross make a difference."

No one from the Nissan family was injured as a result of Charley; however, Harbor Nissan, located in Charlotte Harbor, FL, was destroyed. Another 14 Nissan dealerships in Florida, stretching from Fort Myers to north of Orlando, were impacted by the storm receiving minor damage and experiencing extended power outages.

"Their employees, friends, and families were affected and Nissan's support of the Red Cross ensures that thousands of people will get help when they need it most."

Nissan presented its donation at the American Red Cross chapter in Tampa, FL. Nissan's support of the American Red Cross is part of Nissan's global commitment to "Enriching People's Lives" through charitable contributions, in-kind donations and other philanthropic investments that support education, the environment and humanitarian aid.
