AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 22 -- The Walter P. Chrysler Museum is presenting the second annual Acorn Tour Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The one-day scenic excursion -- open to auto enthusiasts with vehicles of any make built before 1955 -- begins at the Museum in Auburn Hills and features stops in the Village of Clarkston and at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester.

The event gets rolling at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum with continental breakfast and a scavenger hunt tour of the Museum's three stories featuring vehicles bearing the Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep(R), DeSoto, Nash, Hudson, Rambler and Willys marques. Participants can take in the Museum's interactive displays, historical exhibits and short movies as well as visit the gift shop, brimming with exclusive and hard-to-find collectibles celebrating the American heritage of DaimlerChrysler.

Following a leisurely drive along colorful, paved roadways, the Acorn Tour will make a mid-day stop in downtown Clarkston. Participants will savor brunch at the Clarkston Cafe, stroll nearby historic neighborhoods and Depot Park and browse the village's quaint shops.

The Acorn Tour will conclude at Meadow Brook Hall, the 110-room Tudor period mansion on the Oakland University campus. Participants will tour the former residence of university founders Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of automobile pioneer John Dodge, and her second husband, lumber broker Alfred G. Wilson. The tour will end with a reception toasting the day's adventures.
