AAA Michigan President & COO Linda M. Woolwine to Give Keynote Address at Metro Teen Conference

AAA Michigan President and COO Linda M. Woolwine will discuss Michigan's Graduated Driver Licensing law during her keynote address at the 21st annual Metropolitan Detroit Teen Conference, which will convene at the Student Center Ballroom (5221 Gullen Mall) at Wayne State University.

The conference, which will take place Thursday, November 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., will host 300 ninth and 10th graders from more than 50 schools and organizations in metro Detroit. Woolwine's remarks will begin at 9 a.m.

As part of her presentation, Woolwine will show a video: "Young Drivers, the High-Risk Years." The video explains the benefits of graduated driver licensing (GDL) laws, which were enacted in Michigan in 1997. Michigan was the first state in the country to enact a comprehensive GDL law.

Woolwine joined AAA in 1973 and was named president and COO of AAA Michigan last April. Woolwine is the first African-American to hold the top position in a AAA-affiliate auto club.
