IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 22 -- Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today launched a new interactive website called "Zoom-Zoom Island," a unique combination of vehicle information and experiential entertainment. Designed to provide potential customers with a forum to research the full line of Mazda vehicles, Zoom-Zoom Island merges the elements of print, video and gaming to capture the essence of Mazda's brand promise of fun to drive vehicles. Customers can access this automotive adventure by visiting www.zoomzoomisland.com

Zoom-Zoom Island has a variety of simulated geographic locations for the user to visit that showcase the capability of individual Mazda vehicles. Within each location, the customer can build and customize their own Mazda vehicle, read briefs on how to maximize their real-world driving skills, or take to the track in a challenging interactive game.

"More potential customers are using the internet in the discovery phase of shopping than ever before," said Don Romano, vice president, marketing for MNAO. "Mazda's Zoom-Zoom Island is an easy-to-use website, allowing internet users to learn about our full line of vehicles in their own fun, pressure-free environment."

The original concept for Zoom-Zoom Island evolved from an electronic book on driving skills, to a multi-discipline website that provides both content and viral capability. Games offered on the site are challenging and grow more difficult as players master skills and advance.

"Mazda consulted expert web designers, illustrators and gaming developers to produce one of the most informative and visually innovative sites of its kind," said Patrick Sarkissian, president, Sarkissian Mason interactive design. "We're excited to be a part of this effort to position Mazda as a leader in interactive consumer technology."
