Getting To And From The North American International Auto Show

DETROIT, Jan. 13, 2005 -- Attendees to Public Days of the 2005 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at COBO Conference/Exhibition Center will find convenient and accessible parking and transportation downtown.

"Our goal is to make getting downtown and getting to the NAIAS as easy as possible," said NAIAS 2005 Senior Co-Chairman Bill Cook. "The NAIAS is actively working with Metro Networks and the City of Detroit to provide up-to-the-minute information on traffic patterns and available parking throughout the show."

Metro Networks/Shadow Broadcast Services is the largest supplier of traffic, news, sports and weather programming to the broadcasting industry. Metro/Shadow is heard by more than 100 million adults throughout the U.S., on more than 2,200 radio and TV affiliates.

The NAIAS Web site (http://www.naias.com/ ) now features an interactive map of Detroit that includes all parking garages as well as driving directions. In addition to the Web site, attendees also should check their local media outlets for traffic patterns and weather conditions before heading to the show.

The NAIAS is running six to ten shuttle buses daily along the Detroit River from Joe Louis Arena to the Renaissance Center parking structures. There are approximately 10,000 parking spaces in the Renaissance Center parking facilities. In addition, the Detroit People Mover is fully functional, and has several convenient stops near the NAIAS. Visit http://www.thepeoplemover.com/ for additional information.

When parking on the Cobo Rooftop, money will only be collected at the top of the ramp, by credentialed Cobo personnel.

The 2005 show will open to the public on Saturday, Jan. 15, and run through Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005. Show hours are 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. through Jan. 22, and 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23. Admittance ends one hour prior to show closing.
