Snide's Remarks: Relections on the GM Fiat "Deal" - Way to go Guido !

Sounds to me like GM is paying TWO BILLION DOLLARS (say it expressively, like Carl Sagan) not to buy Fiat. What a deal - For Fiat. What a sucker GM was, oh well, they can blame it on someone who's no longer there. Even better than paying farmers not to grow crops.

Of course the whole idea of buying Fiat was more than a little suspect in the first place. Fiat quality control was something that made GM look good in comparison, but that's not exactly a good reason. Reminds me of when BMW bought the dregs of the British car industry - anyone rational knows you don't buy ONE British car unless you're a glutton for masochism, let alone the whole company. And that little deal came perilously close to bringing BMW to its knees. The only thing more suspect than buying old Brit Shit is buying old Fiats. Unless they're Abarths.

There, I feel better now. And I'm glad I sold off my GM stock long ago.
