2005 Chicago Auto Show: Web Cameras to Beam Images Worldwide

CHICAGO--Feb. 15, 2005--Thousands of car enthusiasts and auto industry professionals who can't attend the 2005 Chicago Auto Show in person can once again join in the experience thanks to SilkRoad Technology's TrueLook network web cameras.

SilkRoad, the leading provider of enterprise-class, easy-to-use content management and collaboration software, will supply TrueLook web cameras to the auto show for the fourth consecutive year. Five cameras will be positioned throughout the South and North halls of McCormick Place, giving a global opportunity to view the industry's latest car models and innovations from the comforts of their computer desks.

The Feb. 11, 2005-20 auto show has expanded in 2005 with 44 percent more exhibit space than last year. To provide better coverage of the 1.2-million-square-foot display area, the organizers added two more Sony cameras managed by TrueLook's powerful network webcam management software.

TrueLook is an IP-based live web camera management platform. TrueLook live Web cameras are used at a wide range of business and events including the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Midway Airport in Chicago, the Hubble Project in Greenbelt, Md., the Empire State Building in New York, Sea World in Orlando, Fl., and a wide range of construction projects and public areas. Several auto dealerships, such as the Bill Marsh Group in Traverse City, Mich., use TrueLook cameras to display their on-site vehicle stocks on the web.

TrueLook cameras attracted more than 95,000 unique users and generated more than 1.2 million image views at the 2004 Auto Show. During the month of the show nearly 40 percent of the TrueLook users logged on more than once, reflecting the cameras' ability to sustain interest in the subject.

You can watch the set-up of the show floor from now until the start date of February 9, and then throughout the show dates of February 9-20, 2005 by visiting the Chicago Auto Show website at http://www.chicagoautoshow.com.
