Hot Rod Power Tour Hits the Road June 4 - June 11, 2005

NEW YORK--May 2, 20056, 2005--PRIMEDIA Inc. , the country's leading targeted media company, today announced the 11th Annual Hot Rod Power Tour(TM), presented by Hot Rod Magazine and General Motors' Performance Division. As PRIMEDIA's longest running event series, the Hot Rod Power Tour is revered as the world's largest gathering of hot rod enthusiasts, drawing more than 3,500 entrants and hundreds of thousands of spectators who participate in a 1,700-mile tour through the heartland of America. Hot Rod Magazine is the leading publication for hot rodding enthusiasts reaching more than seven million readers every month, and is credited for helping to create the $29 billion performance automotive industry.

Presented by General Motors' Performance Division and co-sponsored by Flowmaster Exhaust, the event begins on June 4 in Milwaukee, WI and then makes its way to Springfield, IL, Indianapolis, Nashville, Birmingham, and Tallahassee before completing the tour in Kissimmee-St. Cloud, FL on June 10. The Tour, which was created more than a decade ago, stands as one of the largest and most celebrated traveling automotive events in the country.

"This tour celebrates America's love affair with the automobile," said Hot Rod editor-in-chief David Freiburger. "From Wisconsin to Florida, from classic Chevrolet Corvettes and Camaros to Pontiac Firebirds, there is nothing quite like the Hot Rod Power Tour, and this year is expected to be the biggest ever. We take great pride in being able to share our passion and excitement for these automobiles with our readers."

The Tour travels an average of 250 miles each day, pulling into a designated location at each city for "Cruise Nights." For participants, Cruise Nights include a traditional car show, dinner and festivities. Drivers, who come alone or with friends and families, may participate in a single leg of the Tour or drive the entire route. Those who complete the entire seven-day, 1,700-mile journey are dubbed "long haulers" and generally make up over half of the Tour's registrants.

"The GM Performance Division is pleased to lead the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour again in 2005," said Craig Shantz, manager of Shows and Events, GM Performance Division. "As the recognized market leader of high performance automotive vehicles, GM's involvement with the nation's premiere touring hot rod show furthers our leadership in the performance based cars and trucks market."

GM's Performance Division will participate at each tour stop bringing unique car displays and vehicles of every make and model. Other Tour activities include manufacturer displays, product giveaways and a "Dyno Challenge" which is open and free to the public. Additional sponsors of the Tour's "Cruise Nights" include Painless Wire, Edlebrock, Superchips and Banks Power.

Registration for the Hot Rod Power Tour is $65 and includes a vehicle, driver and one passenger, plus participation at all Tour stops and activities. For further information and registration, call 1-877-413-6515 or visit www.hotrod.com
