MEXICO CITY, June 28 -- Christine A. MacKenzie, Chrysler Group Vice President - Corporate Research and Reporting, addressed attendees of the 15th annual Global Summit of Women 2005 Opening Ceremony held in Mexico City June 23-25, where DaimlerChrysler Corporation was the exclusive automotive sponsor. The theme of this year's conference was "Leading the 21st Century Economy."

"Diverse points of view promote robust decision making and the innovation needed to create products that appeal to globally diverse markets," said MacKenzie. "Clearly, this is a recipe for success, and women are an integral part of this formula."

The Global Summit of Women brings together women from all industries and from every corner of the world to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing women as they strive to take on greater roles in business and government. The Global Summit of Women also focuses on accelerating women's economic development with an emphasis on cross-border business and professional alliances.

More than 20 women managers and executives from DaimlerChrysler Corporation business centers participated in the Summit including: Monica Emerson, Executive Director of Corporate Diversity; Ann Schlenker, Director of Body on Frame Program Management; and Lori Shaloub, Director of Government Affairs.

"This event reflects DaimlerChrysler's commitment to increasing opportunities for women in the automotive industry as well as in the global market," said Emerson. "Chrysler Group has been a proud sponsor of this Global Summit of Women for the past six years and our commitment has expanded at this year's event."

Women comprise more than 20 percent of the Chrysler Group workforce, while minorities and women comprise 41 percent.

"Diversity is a unique source of innovation and strength at DaimlerChrysler, so it's no surprise the company values and champions diversity issues in the U.S. and around the world," added Emerson. "DaimlerChrysler realizes that success is a function of inclusiveness, and strives to include and empower diverse people and partners in order to design and build great products as well as meet the changing expectations of customers and the communities it serves."

For the last eight years, the Chrysler Group has been named as one of the top-100 companies for working mothers by Working Mother magazine. Since 1999, the Company has seen a 70 percent improvement in the representation of women at the executive level.
