AAA Chicago, Disney 'Celebration' Targets Mouseketeering Cubs Fans

AURORA, Ill., July 19 -- AAA Chicago is betting that a host of loyal Chicago Cubs fans will trade in their team baseball caps for a set of mouse ears this December. Dubbed the "Walt Disney World Happiest Celebration on Earth Vacation for Cubs Players & Fans," AAA Travel, the official travel arm of AAA Chicago, will feature this exclusive event from December 1-5 in Orlando, Fla.

Access to this Cubs-Disney excursion must be secured through AAA Chicago in advance, as admission will not be sold during the event. Partakers receive five days and four nights filled with events and receptions featuring several past and present Cubs team members including Hall of Famers Ernie "Mr. Cub" Banks and Billy Williams and current Cubs catcher Michael Barrett.

"Disney is such a magical place," says Williams. "Our fans are the greatest. For them to have the opportunity to meet their favorite ball players, while at Walt Disney World(R), makes it perfectly clear why this event is called the Happiest Celebration on Earth."

This is AAA's second year offering this exclusive trip. Williams describes the 2004 event as one that neither he nor his fans will forget. There were batting practices and catch sessions within Disney's Wild World of Sports complex. And, he and team members signed autographs while talking to sports fans who not only love and follow Chicago Cubs players, but the game of baseball.

The 2005 Disney-Cubs Happiest Celebration on Earth experience includes park admissions and choice accommodations. Admission to the sporting events and dining receptions where fans can freely interact with past and present Cub team members is exclusive to this package and must be secured in advance in order to attend.

Former Cubs Lee Smith, Jody Davis and Gary "Sarge" Matthews are among confirmed players. In addition, Pat Hughes, WGN-radio's "Voice of the Chicago Cubs" and Len Kasper, WGN-TV Cubs sportscaster will also attend.
