AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 21 -- Celebrating the achievements of minority women from all over the country is the focus of the annual "Women of Color" Technology Awards Conference held at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia on October 20-22, 2005. Four DaimlerChrysler women will be recognized during the event including Olabisi Ariyo Boyle, Senior Manager, Product Strategy, who will receive the award for the Most Promising Engineer. This is the 10th consecutive year DaimlerChrysler has been recognized at this prestigious event. The awards were created to honor the achievements of minority women in the often male- dominated technology-based fields.

"We appreciate the contributions that Ms. Boyle has made since joining DaimlerChrysler," said Nancy Rae, Senior Vice President - Human Resources, DaimlerChrysler. "She has brought a fresh perspective and creative ideas to our product strategy division that are aligned with market demands. We congratulate her on this award."

Boyle's career in engineering spans 15 years, leading to her current position at DaimlerChrysler, which she has held since May 2004. As Senior Manager, Product Strategy - Features and Innovation (Product Development), she is responsible for the execution of the feature prioritization process and development of the Chrysler Group's Innovation Calendar. She also consolidates the marketing commitment on pricing for features; develops brand feature strategies, business cases for leading edge features and corporate APEAL strategy and guidelines for J. D. Power APEAL surveys.

Prior to her position with DaimlerChrysler, Boyle held several positions with Ford Motor Company for over nine years, including Manager, Strategy & Business Planning. She has also been employed with International Business Machines -- as a Senior Engineer and GTE Service Corporation (now Verizon) in the Engineering Associate Development Program.

Boyle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Fordham University in New York, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University in New York and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia. She has also received extensive training in Implementing ISO/QS 9000, Team Facilitation/Management Skills, Global 8D Problem Solving, Lead Auditor Training, Advanced Product Quality and Planning Training, Six Sigma Project Champion Training - Green Belt Certified. Additionally, she has completed coursework in Technical Education Programs in numerous subjects.

Three additional DaimlerChrysler employees are also to be honored at the Conference by being named to the 2005 Women of Color Technology. They are: Krysten Dean, Plant Vehicle Engineer, Newark (New Jersey) Assembly Plant; Mamatha Suravajjala, Manager, Volume Planning Systems, Information Technology Management; and Stacey A. Young, Knowledge Officer, Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance.

The Women of Color Technology Awards Conference was started in 1995 to support and recognize women in technology careers. The conference focuses on creating opportunities for women from multicultural backgrounds in an attempt to ensure inclusion in all ranks of America's workforce.

The Awards serve to highlight the accomplishments of talented minorities, dispel stereotypical myths and encourage young people -- particularly young girls -- to reach their potential. Winners are selected based on their professional accomplishments, job responsibilities and contributions to their particular field.
