David Donohue/Jay Leno Team Set Speed Records in Porsche(R) Carrera(R) GT

In Atlanta on September 7, 2005, history was both made and remembered over the Labor Day holiday when a Porsche Carrera GT production car, driven by racecar driver David Donohue and NBC Television's "The Tonight Show" host Jay Leno, set a series of Grand American speed records at Talladega Superspeedway, where David's father, Mark Donohue, set a similar series of records in a Porsche racecar 30 years ago. As the records were being set, Porsche decided to donate the car to an auction designed to raise funds to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The pre-auction event of the record-setting Carrera GT will take place at Automotive Legends in Malibu, California, Friday, November 11th, with red carpet arrivals: 7:30 p.m., Automotive Legends, 3835 Cross Creek Road, Malibu, California 90265.
