Nissan in Japan Stars Online Repair Shop Time Slots

TOKYO December 18, 2005; Japan Today reported that Nissan Motor Co said Friday it will introduce in January a company-wide online inquiry system enabling sales staff to make reservations at Nissan's repair garages for customers — either via computers or mobile phones.

The "i-Port" system will free the staff from having to make inquiries with fixed-line phones at showrooms on the availability of time slots that can be used for repair and other maintenance services. The i-Port, introduced on a trial basis in May this year, has been used by 13 of Nissan's 142 dealers.
