DCX Holds Off Decision on Bringing Minicar Brand To U.S.
December 21, 2005; It's now been almost a year since DCX' BIG TIME and VERY EXPENSIVE "smart" intro promotion at last years Detroit Auto Show. Now accordong to Reuters DaimlerChrysler has decided to delay a decision on whether to launch the Smart minicar brand in the U.S. in 2006.
The decision was set to be made at the end of this year, but will now possibly be announced at the Geneva car show in late February. Smart spokesman Heinz Gottwick said “a review of its sales and marketing network may last a few more weeks.”
