2006 AutoGlow! Salute to the '60s in '06 to Benefit The Children's Center in Detroit

DETROIT, Dec. 27 -- Downtown Detroit will soon be abuzz over the excitement of the North American International Auto Show Charity Preview. To help celebrate this grand event, The Children's Center, located in Detroit, will host 2006 AutoGlow! Salute to the '60s in '06, the premier afterglow party of the charity preview. This event will be held in the atrium of Ford Field at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2006. All proceeds from this black-tie gala will benefit The Children's Center, an organization that addresses the needs and problems of some of the most troubled children in the United States.

"We are pleased to sponsor The Children's Center 2006 AutoGlow! event," said Sandra E. Ulsh, President of Ford Motor Company Fund, this year's Title Sponsor. "The Children's Center has been an important part of our community since 1929. Each year, they make a difference in the lives of thousands of children in need through their programs."

Chaired by Lisa and Bill Ford Jr., this year's AutoGlow! will be unlike any other. Guests will have the opportunity to partake in a red carpet fashion walk, dance to live music by The Beatles tribute band The Return and enjoy funky and fun '60s themed lounges. Guests will also enjoy cocktails, a strolling supper and amazing desserts. In addition, complimentary parking at Ford Field will be available along with luxury shuttle service to and from Cobo Hall Center beginning at 4:45 p.m.

This year's AutoGlow! Diamond Sponsor is KPMG and Gold Sponsor is BASF. Making its debut as television sponsor is FOX 2 WJBK Detroit. Oldies 104.3 WOMC will again serve as the radio sponsor and STYLE the magazine as the magazine sponsor. Additional sponsors include Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor, DENSO International, Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith, P.C., Eaton Automotive, JWT, Kasle Steel, Oakley Industries, Tweddle Litho Company, Grace & Wild, Inc. and Penefolds.
