Arlington, Va January 12, 2006; Since 2002 paid subscribers have been enjoying the many in-depth car restoration articles published by Second Chance Garage, now, the subscription-based website is open to all visitors without a paid subscription.

Second Chance Garage's staff of writers have collectively over 50 years experience in restoring classic cars, and have personally restored over 20 cars. They have done everything from complete engine rebuilds and painting to chrome plating and upholstery. Its Editor-In-Chief, Les Jackson, is a renowned automotive writer and mechanical engineer.

The website features over 600 pages of in-depth, easy-to-read articles on all aspects of the car restoration hobby. Departments include Auto-Theory, which describes how things are supposed to work. If you don't know how it works, you can't fix it. Auto-Biography reviews many popular (and not-so-popular) classic cars, in order to help the restorer select his candidate project car. How-Tos give step-by-step instructions on how to resolve the various problems encountered in any car restoration project. We all have to start somewhere and Beginner's Corner is designed to help the novice restorer. Beginning with simple projects helps to build the confidence needed before tackling the larger jobs. Product Reviews guide restorers in their product buying decisions. The reviewed products have been thoroughly tested at Second Chance Garage. The Engine Specs database contains original specification for over 200 engines for post-World War II cars. Dr. Crankshaft is a cantankerous car restoration with lots of information to share. Restoration Tips provides easier ways to do things in the garage. Driver's Seat offers some comments about current trends that affect the car restoration hobby. The site also features a Discussion Forums where site visitors can discuss their car restoration projects with other visitors and Second Chance Garage's experts. A Parts/Service Resource Directory is available to help restorers find those rare parts needed to complete their projects.

The publishers of Second Chance Garage wanted to reach a broader audience of car restorers. They determined that by using content-driven advertising programs, rather than paid subscriptions, they could cover the costs of operating and maintaining the site and reach the broadest audience possible.
