Fleetguard Introduces First User-Friendly Filter

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Feb. 1, 2006--Fleetguard Inc., the global filtration, exhaust, coolant and chemical specialist for diesel and gas powered equipment, today introduced to the on-highway, off-highway and marine engine markets the first user-friendly oil and fuel filter.

The new user-friendly filter is comprised of advanced polymers, making it more dent-resistant than metals. Other features include:

-- Easy-grip surface with ribs for easy installation and service

-- Flat no-spill bottom

-- Built-in one-way socket for easy removal with 1/2" wrench

-- Rugged, corrosion-free design

-- Eliminates damage to filter spud due to cross-threading

-- Advanced polymer material that resists impacts and temperature extremes

-- 50-percent less weight

-- Environmentally friendly design

"We are pleased and excited to introduce the Fleetguard(R) user-friendly oil and fuel filter - the first of its kind - to the marketplace," said Pamela Carter, President of Fleetguard.

"This is a durable, robust new product that's been designed to meet the needs of customers and service technicians for years to come," added Jeff Hamilton, Chief Technical Officer at Fleetguard. "The material is strong, the technology is state-of-the art, and it's backed by Fleetguard's reputation for excellence in OEM and aftermarket filters."

This new oil and fuel filter will be available later this month. To add simplicity and inventory benefits for our customers, the new product will combine several previously existing filters into a single part number.

Extensive customer tests indicate a ready acceptance of the new filter, particularly the socket removal feature, stand-up feature and the lightweight nature of the polymer product.
