The World's Largest Democracy To Meet The World's Largest Automotive Information Resource

Auto Central – March 8, 2006: Yesterday, The Auto Channel previewed the preliminary webpages for its soon-to-be unveiled Indian-centric edition, TheAutoChannelIndia.com. The presentation was made to company insiders during a live national web conference.

“TheAutoChannelIndia.com will focus on India’s love affair with the automobile, and it’s exciting, growing economy,” said Bob Gordon, TACH’s President and Co-Founder. “We’re really excited,” Bob added, “because we think of ‘America’s love affair with the automobile’, but we forget that cars and auto-related subjects create great passion everywhere, sometimes with even more emotion. India has a vibrant automotive community and we’re pleased to announce that we’ll have an excellent partner in the endeavor; a team of highly knowledgeable and experienced communications professionals, all of whom are native-born Indians. We’ll be unveiling the team and their creative efforts to the public within the next couple of weeks.”

TheAutoChannelIndia.com will feature news, information, and streaming media programs specific to the sub-continent market. However, people visiting TACH-India will also have direct access to the entire TACH library of content and its dynamic databases.

Marc Rauch, TACH Executive Vice President and other Founder, speaks enthusiastically about the chances of success for the new venture. “It’s rather funny,” Marc said, “In India we’ve been subject to some significant piracy and theft of intellectual property by small India-based websites. This activity has actually resulted in building a sizable audience for our content and presentation style. While we’ll certainly expend all energy possible to stop the infringements, we expect to exploit this unexpected gift to the fullest.”

The Auto Channel officially signed-online on January 25, 1996, after producing syndicated automotive television programming for several years. The Auto Channel covers 18 subject categories and contains the richest automotive library on the Internet. TACH offers nearly 1 million text pages of content, thousands of streaming media programs (many programs are 1, 2 and even 3 hours in length). The Auto Channel was the pioneer in several database areas; inventing the Internet’s original multi-vehicle comparison features and analysis tools. The Auto Channel was also the world’s first commercial user of streaming video and pioneered the use of live media coverage of automotive subject matter. TheAutoChannel.com can be accessed via www.theautochannel.com, www.autochannel.com, www.tach.com, and www.theautochannel.co.uk.
