Honda May Decide on U.S. Plant Location Next Week

Washington DC June 15, 2006; The AIADA newsletter reported Honda may decide next week at its board meeting where in the U.S. they will build a new $400 million auto assembly plant, reports The Columbus Dispatch.

The automaker wants construction of the plant to start this year and operations to begin by 2008. Honda has said the plant will be somewhere in the Midwest, and is reportedly considering sites in Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.

Honda announced plans for the plant last month, which will provide 1,500 jobs and initially make 200,000 cars a year.
