ArvinMeritor Appoints Deborah Henderson Vice President and General Manager of Door Systems Business

TROY, Mich., June 15 -- ArvinMeritor, Inc. today announced that Deborah deBoer Henderson has been named vice president and general manager of the company's Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) global Door Systems business. This new appointment distinguishes Henderson as the first female to hold the role of business unit vice president and general manager at ArvinMeritor. She will report to Juan De La Riva, president of LVS.

"Deborah brings a wealth of experience to her new role, including strong leadership skills and an emphasis on process discipline," De La Riva said. "Her prior success in helping to ensure customer satisfaction will be significant, as we move forward with our objective to seize global growth opportunities for the Doors business, including in Asia/Pacific."

Henderson will be responsible for the product marketing, design, engineering, manufacturing and delivery of the company's light vehicle door systems and modules portfolio that is produced from 15 different facilities in 11 countries.

She has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry in positions of increasing responsibility. Henderson joined ArvinMeritor in 2002, serving most recently as vice president of Quality, Engineering and Technology within LVS, from offices in Europe and North America, covering product development and launch optimization. Previously, she served as site manager of the company's sunroof manufacturing facility in Detroit, Mich.

Henderson was recognized in 2005 by Automotive News as one of the 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry. She lives in Canton, Mich., and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University in Camden, N.J.
