Tri-C Western Campus to Host Cops 'n Rodders Benefit Car Show and Safety Day Aug. 13

PARMA, Ohio -- Cuyahoga Community College's Western Campus, 11000 Pleasant Valley Road, Parma, will host the Fifth Annual Cops 'n Rodders benefit car show and safety day from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2006.

The free family event, sponsored by the North Coast Cops 'n Rodders, the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council, Inc. (FOPOLCI) and the Tri-C police department, will benefit Critical Incident Response Services (C.I.R.S.) and will be held rain or shine in Parking Lot D of the Western Campus (in front of the Automotive Technology Center).

  The Cops 'n Rodders Benefit Car Show and Safety Day features:

   - Free door prizes and giveaways all day
   - Face painting for children
   - A child helmet safety class and free helmets for the first 100 children
   - A K-9 demonstration by the North Olmsted Police Department
   - A police D.A.R.E. car and Special Utility Police Vehicle for public
     viewing
   - A special appearance by the Metro Life Flight helicopter
   - A special appearance by the Tri-C Police Motorcycle Unit
   - Tours of the Tri-C West Auto Tech facility
   - Refreshments and food
   - A disc jockey and live music

If you would like to register a car for the show, the pre-registration donation is $5; $6 day of show. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Pre- registration forms are available through the Western Campus Automotive Technology Center, or online at www.copsnrodders.com/car_shows.htm.

Dash plaques will be given to the first 175 cars registered. Car classes include: Ford, GM, Mopar, Stock Truck, Modified Truck, Pro Street, Hot Rods & Street Rods, Customs, Home Built Kit Cars, Foreign, Hemi and Tuners, Motorcycles & Bikes. Some awards include Best of Show, Best Engine, Best Paint and Best Under Construction car.
