Automakers Must Post Crash Test Data on Cars by Next Year

Washington DC; Within the next year, automakers will be required to display crash-test scores on the window stickers of new cars, minivans, and SUVs.

The data must be on 2008 models no later than Sept. 1, 2007, according to Nicole Nason, administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

NHTSA was required to set the deadline under highway legislation enacted in August 2005, reports Bloomberg News.

The crash scores will come from NHTSA's own tests.
