Rare Enzo Ferrari Raises More Than $1.15 Million For St. Jude Children's Research Hospital(R)

Luxury Automobile Auctioned Live at the Runway For Life(R) Celebrity Fashion Show in Beverly Hills, California

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Oct. 5 -- Luxury Motors in Chicago, represented by Joe Abbas, CEO, placed the winning bid of $1.15 million to become the proud owner of one of the most famous performance cars in history, an Enzo Ferrari. The rare automobile, donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by a private owner who wished to remain anonymous, was offered for sale during the live auction at the fourth annual Runway For Life(R) to benefit St. Jude. The prestigious, high-wattage, celebrity fashion event was held on September 15 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. Auctioneer Andrea Fiuczynski, president of Christie's Los Angeles presided over the live auction which placed three bidders against each other in hopes of becoming the owner of the rare car. In one of the most exciting moments of the evening, Luxury Motors placed the winning bid and became the owner of the Enzo Ferrari.

This marks the second time that an Enzo has come up at public auction to benefit a charity. Launched in 2003 by Ferrari, only 399 of these exotic Enzos were ever manufactured and sold. One additional car was built and presented to Pope John Paul II by Ferrari, which was later auctioned for tsunami relief.

More than 1,000 guests attended the Runway For Life(R) event, which raised more than $2.2 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and included some of Hollywood's most recognizable faces, Cindy Crawford, Anna Kournikova, Chris Klein, Lisa Rinna, Harry Hamlin, Phil Donahue, Cybill Shepherd and more. The event was co-chaired by the Thomas family (Marlo, Terre and Tony) and close family friend Robert Ellis.
