Indianapolis, IN - There are more women racing today that most people, including race fans, will ever recognize! For the longest time, it appeared that there was just Janet Guthrie and Shirley Muldowney. Then there was Lyn St. James and not too far on her heels was Sarah Fisher. Until Danica Patrick hit the scene, to most, these women were an oddity; the few gals that were trying to race with the guys. But if you take a good look around the sport, Guthrie, Muldowney and St. James are just the tip of the ice berg.

In honor of the women that have been in victory circle, The Lyn St. James Foundation is pleased to introduce the first edition of the 2007 "Women in the Winner's Circle" ™ Calendar. There are 12 women race car drivers listed in the Grid of Champions, each with a list of driving credits that would make most men weep, another 18 covering the months that have achieved significant victories, and to top it off, within the calendar fans can find the names and websites of over 140 women racers currently racing today!

The women racers are photographed doing what they do best, powering through corners in Indy cars, slinging dirt in the Sprints, and burning serious rubber down the quarter mile in TopFuel! The fact is that women have competed and won in races throughout the centuries around the world. The Women in Motorsports Calendar is just one way the St. James Foundation is getting that information out to the fans.

The Lyn St. James Foundation is dedicated to train, advocate, and educate for diversity in the automotive industry until "opportunity" and "diversity" are no longer an issue. These goals are accomplished through programs for automotive study and driver development, especially for women who aspire to become professional race car drivers. Lyn St. James stated, "Leadership will open up these opportunities to those who have the talent and dedication to succeed. This calendar is not only a chance to celebrate these young women, it's also about inspiring others to reach victory circle, too!"

The cover girls of this first edition include this year's SportsWoman of the Year, Melanie Troxel along with Danica Patrick, Erin Crocker, Sarah Fisher, Brittany Frosh, Jessica Helberg, Jessica Brannam, Liz Halliday, Jutta Kleinschmidt, Susie Stoddart and Veronica McCann. Over a 140 women drivers are listed, each on their birthday with contact information so that you check out their race schedules or send them a birthday wish! The 2007 Women in Motorsports 18-Month Calendar sells for $14.95 with all proceeds going to the Lyn St. James Foundation Women in the Winner's Circle initiatives.
