Incredible Tuesday Kicks off the 36th Annual Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--Opening day records were shattered at the 36th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event as six automobiles sold for over US$100,000.00, including Buyer’s Premium, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007. The bidding will continue throughout the week, with the last car scheduled to cross the block on Sunday evening.

“This was the most thrilling, energetic kick-off to an auction we’ve ever had at Barrett-Jackson,” said Craig Jackson, CEO of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. “Nine cars reached the six-figure mark and numerous lots fetched just under that. After just one day of bidding, we’ve already re-established our position as the premier collector car event in the world.”

1970 Plymouth 'Cuda AAR Coupe (Lot #73) - $103,400.00
1961 Chrysler 300G Convertible (Lot #96) - $140,800.00
1968 Shelby GT500 Fastback (Lot #99) - $192,500.00
1961 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible (Lot #101) - $115,500.00
1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V Convertible (Lot #102) - $110,000.00

Tuesday’s unprecedented results followed Barrett-Jackson’s inaugural Rock on the Block™ auction. More than 200 pieces of rock history and pop culture crossed the main auction block, garnering over $400,000.
