Washington DC January 18, 2007; The AIADA newsletter reported that Nissan's Altima Hybrid received designation as a hybrid motor vehicle from the Internal Revenue Service Tuesday, meaning customers who purchase the mid-size vehicle can get cash back for making a smart energy choice.

Forbes reports, U.S. customers purchasing a Nissan Altima in 2007 could get up to $2,350 cash back. In order to receive the full credit customers must claim it by the end of the first quarter; buyers in the second and third calendar quarters can expect to receive 50 percent of the credit; and, taxpayers who wait until the fourth quarter will see a 25 percent return.
