DETROIT, Feb. 6 -- Detroit's new wintertime signature festival - the Super Bowl XL-inspired "Detroit's Winter Blast" - gets a big boost with the largest warming tent of the event, sponsored by the Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association.

The nearly 16,000 square foot tent [15,840] runs down the full width of Monroe Street for 240 feet and features the "Taste Of Detroit" with 16 of Detroit's finest restaurants, the "Chrysler Jeep Cook-off," an entertainment stage, warming stations and displays of the hottest new Chrysler and Jeep vehicles.

The announcement was made by Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association president Jim Schebil.

The Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association is made up of the 39 independently owned Chrysler Jeep Superstores in Southeastern Michigan from Monroe to Fowlerville, and from Clinton to Port Huron.

"Our dealer members have a long tradition of hometown community involvement," Schebil said. "Detroit's Winter Blast takes that community involvement to the regional level and ensures that everyone attending the festival gets great food and fun entertainment while staying warm in the Chrysler Jeep Superstores tent."

Detroit's Winter Blast was originally created as the backdrop for the 2006 Super Bowl XL held in Detroit and became an instant nationally acclaimed sensation, attracting 1.2 million Detroiters and visitors during the Super Bowl XL weekend in 2006. The 2007 event runs Feb. 9 - 11 in downtown Detroit.

The family-friendly festival features exciting winter-themed activities including marshmallow roasting, ice skating on Campus Martius, ice skating exhibitions, ice sculptures, dog sledding and snow shoeing, a 200-foot-long slide, food from 25 restaurants, live music from 60 bands, Michigan-themed exhibits and showcases the hottest new vehicles currently featured in Chrysler Jeep Superstores.
