2007 Chicago Auto Show: Continental Contest to Benefit Local Charities

Continental to Contribute More Than $25,000

CHICAGO, Feb. 7 -- Continental Automotive Systems, celebrating its growing presence in the Chicago area, today kicked off a contest called "MapHunt" at the Chicago Auto Show that will benefit local charities. The contest aims to showcase Continental's successful efforts to integrate active and passive safety systems, wireless and other "smart" technologies into the car; and its commitment to the local community.

The contest is open to Continental's Deer Park and Northbrook employees, Chicago-area engineering community and representatives from approximately 1,400 local charities. It challenges individuals to find what is new in vehicle technologies on various models at the show. Continental will award prizes to contestants and make donations to area charitable organizations.

"We're excited about our future in the Chicago area and the opportunity to make a difference here as a corporate citizen," said Bill Kozyra, Continental Automotive Systems, North America president and CEO. "The MapHunt contest is a fun way to recognize those organizations that are contributing to the Chicagoland community by making it a better place to live and do business. In total, Continental will contribute more than $25,000 to local charities."

To participate in MapHunt contestants will be given a map of the show floor and a game card. Continental officials will judge completed game cards and notify the winning contestants and lucky charities after the auto show.

Some of the charities Continental will benefit include: the American Cancer Society, Northwest Suburban Region; Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago; CEDA Northwest Self-Help Center, Inc.; Chicago Foundation-Education; Chicago Non-Profit Association; Imerman Angels; Jobs For Youth/Chicago, Inc.; Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; Kids Fight Cancer; Little City Foundation, Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment; Salvation Army, Metropolitan Division; Scholarship Chicago; and United Way of Barrington.
