ELKHART, Ind.--CTS Corporation today announced that CTS Automotive Products was awarded multiple production programs for its Seat Belt Tension Sensor (BTS) by a major North American global vehicle manufacturer. CTS Seat Belt Tension Sensor will be integrated into seat belt assemblies for small and mid-sized vehicles built and sold in North America. Production will begin in the spring of 2007 to support new 2008 model year vehicles. Total sales are estimated to reach $13 million over the life of these programs. CTS will manufacture the BTS units at its Elkhart, Indiana facility.

Introduced in 2003, CTS Seat Belt Tension Sensor is currently featured on 39 platforms. The BTS provides a key input signal to a vehicles Occupant Classification System, which classifies front passenger-side occupants and selects the airbag deployment strategy.

CTS is delighted to be awarded these programs, stated Tyler Buchanan, Senior Vice President, CTS Corporation. With these awards, CTS continues to demonstrate the value of this product to the marketplace for occupant safety.
