History will be made April 1-4 in Anaheim, California, where the largest gathering of alternative fuel professionals will convene for the 13th Alternative Fuels & Vehicles National Conference + Expo.

Records for mobility feats are nothing new. Consider some recent Guinness World Records.

  • The Casual Lofa is a motorized sofa that goes 87 mph and is licensed for use on UK roads, using a pizza pan as a steering wheel
  • The largest pedal-powered vehicle is capable of carrying 82 riders and was built by inventors in Sweden.
  • The Indian Army Signal Corps achieved a motorcycle pyramid consisting of 201 men balanced on 10 motorcycles in Jabalpur, India.

What is new is the record breaking participation in the 13th National Conference.

  • Largest number of registrations in the 13 year history of the conference, with an expected 1500 people attending
  • 200 speakers representing fuel associations, auto manufacturers, government officials, national laboratories and fleet representatives
  • International participation that includes exhibitors, speakers and media
  • Highest number ever of exhibitors and sponsors
  • Greatest Original Equipment Manufacturer participation and number of vehicles on display
  • Fleet participation has quadrupled over last year
  • Participation of all of the major fuel associations including the Diesel Technology Forum, Electric Drive Transportation Association, Ethanol Promotion Information Council, National Biodiesel Board, NGVAmerica and the Renewable Fuels Association
