ATLANTA--Porsche continues the amazing success story of its iconic 911 sports car with the 100,000th unit built since production began in April 2004. The landmark was achieved with the latest (997) model produced at the Companys main plant in Zuffenhausen, Germany.

It is with great pride that we celebrate this outstanding achievement for the 911, a vehicle renowned for its performance and style, said Peter Schwarzenbauer, CEO of Porsche Cars North America. We look forward to many more years of delighting sports car enthusiasts who have long looked to Porsche to deliver unsurpassed engineering excellence.

Last year was a record sales year for the 911 in the United States, Porsches largest market, with 12,045 units sold. So far in 2007, sales of the 911 are up by 9% over the same period last year.
