TACH Diesel Fan

Here is a copy of a letter I recieved from a loyal TACH viewer concerning owning a Diesel, Thanks Richard...keep on'TACH'n.

To Milton Snide; I saw your request for feedback in a story at: http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2004/08/16/209488.html

For 23 Years (1978 to 2001), I had at least one car in my garage that got 45 MPG or better and they were all VW Diesels. They weren't that "clean" but it sure was nice to get that kind of milage.

I think, over the years, the American public has been brainwashed to reject Diesel powered autos.

I am driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD and it is great, except for the fuel milage and the fact that the car was orphaned after less than two years in production. The car doesn't even smell like a Diesel because of the B-20, BioDiesel I am running.

I had a BMW driver remark the other day that he had never seen a Diesel car that could go 95 MPH. My wife's 97 Jetta TDI would do it and so does the Liberty.

I am sold on Diesel power and hope some American manufacturers get moving to provide me with my next Diesel powered auto.
