Berwyn Celebrates 81st Anniversary of Route 66 With Historic Car Show

BERWYN, Ill., Aug. 24, 2007; The Berwyn Preservation of Historic Route 66 is kicking off the fall with the 17th Annual Historic Route 66 Car Show on September 8th, 2007. The event will take place on Ogden Avenue in Berwyn, IL, beginning at Oak Park Ave, from 7am to 4pm CDT. This year's event will include a Kackle Fest Demonstration, The Crown Vics, a 50's Rock Band and the first annual "Berwyn Route 66 Women's Pink Ribbon Award" to promote women owners of classic cars, as well as raise awareness of breast cancer.

"This year we are celebrating the 81st Anniversary of Route 66. Berwyn has always been a great Route 66 town with a thriving, dynamic and fast-growing community at its heart. With the successful results we've been experiencing for the past seventeen years since first hosting this event, we're going to blow the lid off this year! I'd encourage all classic Car fans to come to our show and rediscover the great automotive heritage of Berwyn's Historic Route 66," said Ben Ceyer, lead organizer and chairman of the Berwyn Preservation of Historic Route 66 committee.

The Historic Route 66 Car Show also features a $500 prize for the best Pre-WWII Vehicle as well as awards in over 80 different categories.
