Renault to Deliver New Laguna Cars to China Next Summer

Renault will export a new generation of Laguna to the Chinese market next summer, but the company has no timetable to locally produce this model in China, a senior company official said recently.

KOSKAS, Vice president of Renault in Asia and Afica region, said Renault will deliver its flagship product, a hatchback Laguna to Chinese market in next summer.

Renault entered Chinese market in 1993 and started a joint venture company to produce light commercial vehicle called Trafic in Xiaogan, Hebei province. In 1999, Renault delivered first generation of Scenic and Laguna vehicles to Chinese marekt.

In 2005, Renault delivered Megane and the second generation of Scenic to Chinese market. In September 2006, Renault delivered a convertible Laguna to China.

Last year, Renault sold 3,000 vehicles in China and Laguna is Renault's best selling model in this market.
