MILES Electric Vehicles Debuts Faster, More Powerful All-Electric Work Truck - VIDEO ENHANCED

SANTA MONICA - October 11, 2007: All-electric automotive company Miles Electric Vehicles today announced a major upgrade to its low-speed, zero emissions ZX40ST work truck. Now featuring a more powerful 3 phase induction AC motor, the advanced design ZX40ST can travel 50-60 miles on a single charge while delivering vastly superior power and hill climbing capability.

As a DOT-designated low-speed vehicle, the new ZX40ST can legally travel up to 25 mph on public roads and offers advanced AC motor technology. Additional key enhancements include regenerative braking, technology that generates additional battery power during braking, and optional air conditioning.

“The bottom line is that the advanced design MILES ZX40ST delivers the most versatile all-electric low-speed truck on the market to meet the needs of fleet users across the U.S., whether that’s landscaping, light hauling, deliveries or maintenance,” said Miles Electric Vehicles CEO Jeff Boyd. “A lot of organizations want to make a difference by reducing emissions, and the ZX40ST makes that difference economical and practical.”

A typical fleet can eliminate 12,000 pounds of carbon emissions a year by replacing just one gas-powered truck with a MILES ZX40ST. Factoring in its minimal maintenance requirements and the fact that it requires no gasoline, the ZX40ST is also about one-tenth as expensive to operate.

The advanced design MILES ZX40ST will be on display on the Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica, CA, this weekend (October 13-14), the Southern California Clean Vehicle Technology Expo in Ontario, CA, on October 16-17, and the Alt Car Expo at the Santa Monica Airport Barker Hangar on October 19-20.
