Washington DC November 2, 2007; The AIADA newsletter reported that the trick at a big foreign auto show is trying to decipher which vehicles are concepts never meant for production, which are for the home market, and which are harbingers of vehicles bound for the United States.

USA Today highlighted some vehicles on display at the Tokyo Auto Show that is it certain will make their way to American shores.

The Subaru Exiga wagon, called a concept vehicle, is bigger than Legacy, holds seven passengers instead of Legacy wagon's five, and is aimed at long-distance drivers and those with hefty commutes. Despite the "concept" designation, Subaru says it will at least consider Exiga for the U.S. though won't make any promises.

Likewise, Nissan's GT-R — The super-quick sports coupe — goes on sale in the U.S. next June or July.

Also meant for American showrooms is Honda's i-DTEC — it's super-clean diesel engine. On display in Tokyo in cutaway form, it's under development.
