FULLERTON, Calif. (Jan. 2, 2008) – Yokohama tires are standard equipment on all trim levels of the all-new 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (EVO), introduced during the recent Greater Los Angeles Auto Show. The ultra-high-performance Yokohama A13C tires in size 245/40R18 carry a 93Y load and speed rating and ride on 18 x 8.5 inch Enkei cast aluminum or BBS forged aluminum alloy wheels, depending on the model level.

“We’re pleased that Mitsubishi has chosen Yokohama for this important new vehicle,” said Jeff Carpenter, director, OE sales and marketing for Yokohama. “The Lancer EVO is a performance icon. Our relationship with Mitsubishi has never been stronger.”

The EVO brings together Mitsubishi’s rally-inspired technology and engineering in a series that went on sale in Japan 16 years ago. In addition to the state-of-the-art tire technology used in the Yokohama tires, the EVO comes with a 291-hp 2-liter turbocharged and intercooled engine and an all-wheel-control dynamic handling system to regulate drive torque at each wheel.
