2008 Chicago Auto Show - Volkswagen Expands Minivan Portfolio - PRESS CONFERENCE VIDEO
CHICAGO - February 7, 2008: On Wednesday, during the Chicago Auto Show's first of two Media Days, Volkswagen unveiled the Routan, a seven-passenger minivan. Volkswagen indicates the vehicle is inspired by European style and comes standard with a 3.8L V6 engine that offers 197 horsepower. The Routan also features two 9 inch screens with touch screen navigation for the second and third passenger rows, as well as “conversation mirrors.”

The Volkswagen Routan will be produced at the automaker’s Windsor, Ontario facility. Volkswagen of America also announced on Feb. 6 that the motorsport-inspired R32 had won the 2008 IntelliChoice.com award for “Best Overall Value” in a base sport vehicle.
