Bentley sales in China rose 93 percent in 2007

Shanghai. February 18 (Gasgoo.com) ¨C World top luxury car-maker Bentley sold 338 cars in China and Hong Kong areas last year, up 93 percent from one year earlier, the company announced yesterday.

Last year, the luxury car maker sold 258 Bentley cars in mainland China, which has becoming the automaker¡¯s fifth largest market and fastest growing market worldwide after the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Japan.

Last year, Bentley sold 4,196 units in the United States and 2,079 units in the United Kingdom, which are Bentley¡¯s No. 1 and No. 2 market world wide respectively.

Bentley sold 10,014 cars worldwide last year, up 7 percent, but its sales in Asia rose 18 percent in the same year.

Separately, Rolls Royce, a world-class luxury brand owned by BMW group, sold 185 Royce Rolls vehicles in Asia market last year and 106 of them were sold in Chinese market, BMW senior sales and marketing official announced earlier this month.

Stefan Krause, BMW¡¯s board of management member in charge of sales and marketing said Rolls Royce sold 1,100 Roll Royce vehicles last year worldwide and about 10% were sold in Chinese market. China has become Rolls Royce¡¯s third largest market after the United States and United Kingdom.
