Family-Owned hotel gears-up for race fans.

Monterey, CA 05/06/08 --- The management of the Lone Oak Lodge today announced that Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has selected the longtime family operated motor lodge as a “Recommended Hotel.” Lone Oak Lodge owner Richard Quaglia says he’s very happy with the track’s decision to include the Lone Oak on Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s website Travel, Hotels and Restaurant page (http://www.laguna-seca.com/travel/). “It feels good to be recognized by a local organization that has produced some really great events and, in turn, helped the Monterey Peninsula grow.” Quaglia stated. “It‘s a real honor.” Quaglia says the impact Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has on the area’s economy drives many tourist dollars to the Monterey Peninsula. “A lot of small businesses rely upon commerce generated by the races and other events staged at the track (Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca).”

Long known by divers here to explore the depths of the Monterey Bay, the Lone Oak Lodge will soon become known to racing fans here to see their favorite driver. A longtime racing fan himself Quaglia says he’s proud of the new designation and looks forward to catering to a clientele here to see some fast laps. “Race fans can expect accommodations that will fit most budgets even in this unsettled economy, while still offering a restful night’s sleep.”

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s announcement comes on the heals of Atlantic Champ Car series driver and Monterey Peninsula resident Jonathan Bomarito’s video endorsement of the Lone Oak Lodge. The short video is a live, unedited clip of Bomarito standing in the paddock of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca telling viewers that he refers his visiting friends and relatives to the Lone Oak Lodge. “It was a great surprise when Jonathan agreed to cut the video clip for the Lone Oak!” Quaglia said. “It put a smile on my face to hear him say, on camera, that he tells his friends and family to stay with us. Having known Jonathan all his life, it’s an honor to be able to see what he’s accomplished and have him share his celebrity with the Lone Oak. He’s a real class act and a gentleman.”

As a result of the recommended hotel designation from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and Jonathan Bomarito’s endorsement, Quaglia anticipates a busy year for the Lone Oak Lodge.
