Military Personnel

Who Serve" initiative
-- Fort Lewis soldier won vehicle while serving in Iraq
-- Vehicle will be presented to the soldier prior to the 4th Stryker
Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division redeployment ceremony
What: Chrysler and Operation Gratitude will present a custom-painted
2008 Jeep(R) Liberty to Spc. Michael Gallagher from Fort Lewis,
Wash. on Tuesday, July 1 at 9:10 a.m.
While serving in Iraq in January, Gallagher was surprised when
Operation Gratitude personally delivered its 300,000th care
package to him containing keys to the new vehicle. Gallagher
decided to turn his good fortune into a moving tribute to his
fallen friends.
Gallagher's new Jeep will feature a custom-painted mural
designed by him on its hood that reads:
In Memory Of The Fallen Heroes Of Alpha Company 2.23 Infantry.
You Will Never Be Forgotten. R.I.P. Joseph Landry III, Donald
Valentine III, Nicholas Olson, Luigi Marciante, Jr., Jason
Lemke.
Following the vehicle presentation, Spc. Gallagher will join
4,000 soldiers from 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd
Infantry Division, for a redeployment ceremony marking
the brigade's return from their Iraq deployment.
