DuPont Expands Global Capacity for High-Growth Vespel(R) Parts with Singapore Facility Opening

SINGAPORE, July 17 -- DuPont today announced that production for its high growth DuPont(TM) Vespel(R) parts and shapes has begun in Singapore -- the newest facility for the high performance parts.

"Industry demand for metals replacement technologies that can reduce weight while delivering comparable performance is driving a step change in our business. DuPont invested in this expanded capacity to support growth and meet these market needs," said Keith J. Smith, vice president and general manager -- DuPont Engineering Polymers. "This new facility joins four other Vespel(R) part plants which are strategically located globally so that we can ensure rapid delivery of high-quality products anywhere around the world. It underscores the ability of the Vespel(R) business to meet global market needs by delivering innovation through materials science."

Other production facilities for Vespel(R) are located in Utsunomiya, Japan; Mechelen, Belgium; and in the U.S. at Newark, Del. and Valley View, Ohio. The parts and shapes meet stringent requirements for long service life, chemical exposure and extreme temperatures. Primary markets are global aerospace, semiconductor, transportation and oil and gas.
