LUTON – September 3, 2008: Car company Vauxhall has extended its partnership with Fashion Scout, the leading off-schedule venue at London Fashion Week, for a further two years. The initiative, a collaboration between Vauxhall Motors and Fashion Scout founders Martyn Roberts and John Walford is focussed on providing young talent and emerging designers with a professional, all-encompassing venue enabling them to showcase their collections in stress-free style.

This September is set to be Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s biggest and most dynamic season to date. With an aim of supporting up to 20 talented up-and-coming designers, to showcase their spring/summer 09 collections at the venue, the initiative has grown into the most important and widely respected off-schedule venue at London Fashion Week.

Vauxhall Fashion Scout works with the UK’s most talented emerging fashion designers and drives them forward, providing them with the venue support they need. With a new, extensive mentoring scheme in place for September, Vauxhall Fashion Scout is set to lead the way in nurturing and developing the designers of the future.

Show producer and co-founder of Graduate Fashion Week John Walford, and business partner Martyn Roberts, an ex-fashion PR director and sponsorship consultant, are both industry insiders and have many combined years of experience working in the fashion industry. They formed Fashion Scout with the aim of providing opportunities for emerging fashion talent in the UK.

Vauxhall Fashion Scout was formed in 2006, and has quickly established itself as a credible platform for budding talent to showcase their work through providing a venue, which designers could show at without having to incur the ‘infrastructure’ costs of a conventional show. Previous young designers that have taken part in Vauxhall Fashion Scout include rising stars Peter Pilotto, Julia Clancey and Jens Laugesen.

Vauxhall has a commitment to supporting up and coming talent in the UK and successfully sponsored Britain’s Next Top Model on LIVING with Vauxhall Tigra. Tigra and Vauxhall Fashion Scout will be working in tandem this September as the winners from the Face of Tigra promotion will be sashaying down the catwalk at Vauxhall Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week.

Vauxhall Fashion Scout takes place on 14-19 September, at Baden Powell House and will sport a new look of its own based on the new Griffin logo introduced by Vauxhall.
