PARIS, September 16, 2008 - Valeo will be present at the Paris Motor Show, from October 4 to 19, 2008, at the city's Parc des Expositions at the Porte de Versailles. The Group will present its new technologies in special areas dedicated to each of its three Domains:

Driving Assistance. A Domain that offers solutions for safer vehicles, using systems that monitor the vehicle's surroundings.

These systems include Park4U(TM), a sensor-based automatic park assist solution, ParkVue, a camera-based system offering perfect visibility behind the vehicle and Blind Spot Detection, which uses radar to prevent dangerous lane changes.

A separate area - "Tame the dark" - relating to Xenon headlamps will demonstrate the performance of this light that is close to natural daylight. Xenon headlamps can increase visibility at night by 30%.

Powertrain Efficiency. A Domain that designs solutions for fuel-efficient vehicles offering enhanced performance.

Valeo will present all its green technologies, which can cut fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40%. These include StARS, which offers average fuel savings of 15% by shutting the engine off when the car is stationary and starting it up again instantly and silently when the driver releases the brake pedal; and E-valve, a solution that replaces the camshaft with individual electromagnetic actuators.

Comfort Enhancement. A Domain offering solutions for making vehicles more comfortable.

Making its first public appearance will be the smart key, which communicates with the vehicle over large distances, checking for example that the alarm has been activated, that tire pressure is correct and that the tank is full. It can also be used to control other functions, including cabin pre-ventilation.

A special area dedicated to the human-machine interface will outline the history of the dashboard, whose latest developments offer greater styling possibilities, as well as enhanced ergonomics and ease of use. Another area devoted to cabin air quality will showcase Valeo's air purification solutions.

These Domain solutions respond to market demands, offering innovative solutions for the automotive industry which reconcile environmental protection, safety and driving pleasure.

Valeo's booth is no. 441 in Hall 1.

Thierry Morin, Chairman and CEO of Valeo, will hold a press conference on Friday October 3, at 9.00 am in the Pégase room, Espace 2000 in the Hall 1.
