AURORA, Ill.--Fuel prices have fallen steadily since mid-September as crude oil prices have dropped during recent weeks and inventory levels remain high. AAA Chicagos most recent Fuel Gauge Report estimates that in Illinois, regular unleaded gasoline has decreased $1.04 during the past month, forecasting an average cost of $2.26 per gallon for the month of November, which is 91 cents lower per gallon than last year.

After a spring and summer of extremely high prices, consumers are now enjoying relief at the pump as prices have decreased significantly, says Beth Mosher, AAA Chicagos spokesperson. Prices are falling daily and are much lower than they were both a month and a year ago. This is providing consumers with such much needed relief as the economy overall continues to struggle.
