MELBOURNE, Australia – February 12, 2009: It will be fun for young and old at the Melbourne Motor Show Family Day on Saturday 7 March 7, with favourite kids characters, face painting and a whole lot more.

For Wiggles fans, Dorothy the Dinosaur will be there as a special guest of Volkswagen Group Australia, as part of its partnership with The Wiggles.

Dorothy will visit the Volkswagen stand at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm to meet and greet fans of all ages.

Dora the Explorer will be another highlight of the day, cruising the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from 1 pm to 4 pm to meet children throughout the Show.

Fairies, magicians and magic clowns will also be roving the hall - and kids will also be able to get their face painted or have a balloon artist make them their own special balloon creations.

For the parents there will be the latest supercars, green cars, family cars and concept cars from around the world, with many making their first Australian appearance at the Show.

To celebrate the shows 75th year, a Heritage Tribute display will feature some rare stars of previous shows, in addition to the usual feast of cars and memorabilia in the Shannons Motor show Auction display on the concourse.

Even better, a family pass is just $45 for two adults and up to three kids, and kids under five are free for the entire show.

Melbourne International Motor Show runs from 27 February to 9 March at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and is organised and promoted by the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce through its dealer division the Australian Automobile Dealers Association (Vic).
